I’ve spoken previously about the lack of transparency regarding SQE training provider pass rates. While it’s been nearly 5-years since the SQE was introduced, the SRA still has not shared any provider pass rate data – nor has it mandated that providers share this themselves…
Updated March 2026 – This article analyses the (self-reported) pass rates of the major SQE course providers.
Like many candidates, I’ve had a few nagging questions knocking around in my brain, namely:
Whose training really translates into passing grades? and
Is it possible to say, with any certainty, who the “best” providers are?

Updated April 2026 – Just as I did for SQE1 performance, I wanted to write about SQE2 results over time… and now that the Solicitors Qualifying Exam has been in place for over three years, there is some publicly available data about candidates’ SQE2 performances.
Updated April 2026 – As the SQE has been around for three years now, I thought it might be useful to amalgamate some of the performance data to illustrate pass rate trends over time. (As far as I know, the SRA publishes SQE1 stats on a per-test basis, but does not present historical pass rates in any one document)…
